Term 3, Week 6

My week has been quiet. Everyday has been a blur, school is still the same and I've yet to defeat the bane of every student EVER - Assessments. Most nights on a weekday I stay up until late, trying to knuckle down on these assessments, and leave to go to school in the morning with little energy.

However, I do know that these late nights will pay off, so its fine by me. Priorities MUST come first if you want to achieve something, its a principle that I've always lived with and have been taught from a young age.

Onto a more INTERESTING topic, this Saturday the year 12 Leadership Development team spent the day in the AUT Auckland City Campus. It was a nice day to get out and explore the campus, to attend some of the sessions, and to converse with other students from different high schools who attended.

Students were shouted lunch with a 20 dollar cafĂ© voucher given out to each individual, so everybody was definitely happy. We had all been organised into groups as soon as we got there, which meant we were in teams with students from different schools. As a team, we had to use communication to function properly when participating in the given activities. A lot of walking was done that day, and A LOT of stairs. Too many stairs.

My team was kind of awkward, and the only person from our school that was on my team was Michelle. Luckily we had a few ice breakers with the other students, so we weren't calling anybody by our gender. 'Oi Carolyn', sounds relatively better then 'Oi Girl', in my opinion.

Saturday was DEFINITELY the highlight of my week, however my hearing wasn't so good at the end of the day. Thanks to the De La Salle boys...

Term 3 Week 4

My weeks since Term 3 started have been rather stressful. I've reflected on the why and how, and have come to the conclusion that I have set out for myself too many goals.

Setting too many goals for myself has kind of made me exhausted, my focus has slightly drifted from what I'd originally prioritised at the beginning of the year, and my attendance has been slack. Assessments are piling and I've a lot to do before this terms ends.

The highlight of my week(s) is that I've now got a Chromebook, meaning I'll be able to finish assessments much more quicker now that I have something to do it on.

Other than that, I aim to work on those things and better myself, my attendance, and my academic performance.
